Volunteering in Fleckney

Fleckney Volunteers Needed
Could you offer company and conversation to a lonely older person? If so VASL Community Champions would like to hear from you. We have older people waiting in the Fleckney area for a volunteer to visit or call them, each week for up to 1 hour. Training, support and expenses are given and the opportunity to mix and meet other volunteers is also offered. Volunteers need to be 18 years or older and have 1-2 hours per week to offer.
At Voluntary Action South Leicestershire (VASL), Community Champions 2, is a hybrid project funded by the National Lottery Community Fund to tackle loneliness amongst older people by providing volunteer befrienders. Volunteer befrienders visit, call or write to older people every week giving them valuable conversation and companionship, encouraging them into their communities so they can get back to doing what they love. We also organise regular social and learning events both face to face and online and promote these via a monthly newsletter.
